Frequently Asked Questions
What power supply do I need for the GeForce RTX 2080?
The GeForce RTX 2080 has a TDP of 215W. A 600W power supply (80+ Gold or better) is the recommended minimum, leaving headroom for the CPU, other components, and power spikes. Higher-end CPUs may require additional wattage.
Is 8GB of VRAM enough in 2025?
For 1080p and most 1440p gaming, 8GB is adequate. Some newer AAA titles at max settings may push this limit, but it remains viable for the near future. Consider your target resolution and settings.
How does this compare to newer GPUs?
This is a previous-generation card. While still capable, newer GPUs offer better power efficiency, improved ray tracing, and updated features. However, used older-gen cards often provide excellent value per dollar for traditional rasterization performance.
What can I expect for gaming performance?
Solid 1440p performance at medium/high settings. Excellent 1080p ultra performance with high framerates, perfect for high-refresh displays.
Future-Proofing Score
